With Pittards overlays for extra grip and hybrid finger protection, it balances freedom of movement with sturdy shielding where you need it most. Its airflow system and reinforced thumb protection make it reliable under pressure, whether you’re batting in the heat of the day or under lights. 1. Pittards palm overlay: The Velocity X integrates Pittards leather across its key grip zones, giving a noticeable upgrade in tackiness and control. As you sweat, the leather actually becomes grippier, ensuring consistency across innings.
2. High-impact EPE + cane rods: The lead fingers of the bottom hand feature a reinforced system of cane rods backed by high-density foam. This combination is built to absorb and disperse energy from fast, short-pitched deliveries.
3. Hybrid finger layout: With split fingers on the index and middle, and a traditional sausage profile on the others, the glove strikes a balance between mobility and uncompromising protection.
4. Three-section thumb with shield tip: The thumb features three articulated sections for flexibility, topped off with a protective cap at the tip. This reduces the risk of bruising from fast yorkers or surprise bouncers.
5. Moisture-managing liner: The inside of the glove is lined with soft, wicking fabric that draws sweat away from the skin. It reduces slippage inside the glove and keeps the hands drier during marathon stints at the crease.
6. Perforated palm vents: Discreet micro-perforations on the palm allow heat to escape, complementing the Pittards overlay to keep grip strong without trapping moisture.
